NECIT Services Ltd welcomes Gen2 Carlisle to our roster of Approved Examination Centres.
Becoming an NECIT-approved AEC allows training providers to conduct welder examinations in-house under NECIT’s UKAS-accredited ISO/IEC 17024 scheme. This enables the use of our standardised procedures, calibrated equipment and documentation, while maintaining full control over the training delivery process.

Gen2, a Cumbria-based leading learning provider specialising in engineering, nuclear, and manufacturing apprenticeships and higher education qualifications, has already trained over 3500 apprentices across the region.
As part of the ongoing expansion of their training provision, Gen2 has partnered with NECIT Services to register as an Approved Examination Centre and give their students access to NECIT’s world-class welding expertise, elevating their training to internationally recognised standards of excellence.

NECIT Weld Examiner Russell Cant visited Gen2 Carlisle to complete the final weld examiner processes with two of the centre’s training assessors. Their success marked a key final step toward achieving AEC status.
Operating from three training centres across Cumbria, Gen2 has established a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, industry-relevant education. The organisation continues to develop advanced programmes designed to meet the needs of evolving sectors – including a suite of nuclear technology foundation degrees.
NECIT looks forward to future projects with Gen2 as together we equip the next generation of welding professionals with the latest knowledge and skills needed to thrive in the ever-changing industrial sectors.
