Becoming an NECIT-approved AEC allows training providers to conduct welder examinations in-house under NECIT’s UKAS-accredited ISO/IEC 17024 scheme. This enables the use of our standardised procedures, calibrated equipment and documentation, while maintaining full control over the training delivery process.
South West Durham Training Limited (SWDT) has been the leading provider for top quality training for local manufacturing and engineering companies across the North East, North Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, Teesside, and beyond for over 50 years.
SWDT’s collaboration with NECIT gives this training centre access to our UKAS-accredited ISO/IEC 17024 scheme for welder examinations, enabling them to use our standardised procedures, calibrated equipment and documentation while maintaining full control over the training delivery process.
Peter Lyons, CEO & Technical Director, NECIT Services Ltd, said:
“South West Durham Training is such a well known and respected educational establishment within the engineering community across the North East that to be able to assist their operations and help provide world-class welding expertise is an exceptionally proud moment for NECIT Services. With access to our UKAS-accredited scheme, SWDT further elevates the standard of their training within the North East, for the industry’s next generation.”
Gary Bower, Fabrication and Welding Lecturer, South West Durham Training Limited, said:
“Becoming an accredited centre with NECIT allows for greater opportunities for our students and apprentices to progress into becoming coded welders within the area they specialise. It will also open up a lot of opportunities for the companies in the North East to have their existing workforce upskilled with leading training resources and examination procedures. I’m confident that the relationship between SWDT and NECIT will benefit the local welding community and the companies we work closely with.”
NECIT is proud to support South West Durham Training in their mission to meet the ongoing needs of the region’s individuals and the business community, maximising potential to secure jobs and create wealth for the North East.
With the services made available by joining NECIT’s Approved Examination Centre scheme, SWDT can develop their reputation as a further and higher education provider with exceptional standards and excellent teaching and training opportunities.
