Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform NDT techniques to NECIT Procedures and Technique sheets in applicable NDT Disciplines in accordance with ISO 17020 and other relevant industry standards
  • Ensure all NDT activities are performed in strict accordance with approved Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), complying with health, safety, and environmental standards
  • Prepare and maintain detailed records of inspections and provide technical reports as required, ensuring full traceability and compliance
  • Work closely with the Technical and Deputy Technical Manager and NDT teams to maintain NECIT’s high standards for Non-Destructive Testing
  • Ensure NDT equipment is properly calibrated and maintained in accordance with ISO 17020 requirements and company procedures.
  • Ensure all certification requirements are kept up to date and valid
  • Support the development and implementation of procedures in line with NECIT’s commitment to quality, focusing on continuous improvement and compliance with international standards
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure accurate and timely completion of inspections, addressing any quality-related issues that may arise
  • Participate in audits and assessments to ensure continued accreditation and compliance with ISO 17020
  • Provide training and guidance to junior technicians or external contractors as needed to maintain competence across the team
  • Use of company van
  • £32,000 – £40,000 per annum (DOE) and 5% employer pension contributions

Must Have

Education/Knowledge, Skills and Work Experience Requirements

  • 9 Months of experience with Non- Destructive Testing
  •  In date vision acuity and colour perception
  • Current qualifications relevant to the disciplines linked to the role (SNT Level II or III, ISO 9712 Level I,II, III) or for Visual Testing of welds, deemed competent to ISO 17637 by technical manager demonstrated by means of authorisation.
  • Knowledge of engineering project industry
  • Ability to manage and contribute to business development of the division
  • A track record of consistent success and development as an NDT Inspector/Technician
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software*
  • Fluent in English both spoken and written
  • Market and industry knowledge and understanding
  • Communication and negotiation skills and the ability to build relationships and maintain a good rapport
  • Time management and planning skills
  • Full UK driving licence. Willingness to travel and accommodate client needs at locations across the UK and beyond
