Hydrostatic Testing - Finland

NECIT were required to rapidly source specialist inspectors to carry out and witness Hydrostatic Testing in Finland to conform to project schedule for our global client.


Our client is a global EPC and maintenance company who help design, construct and maintain projects across the world


The project is a redevelopment of an oil and gas field in the most Northern part of the North Sea, said to be able to produce over 45,000 barrels of oil per day.


The client required NECIT to source specialist inspectors to inspect lifting equipment such as Riser Pull-In Winch’, as well as carry out and witness hydrostatic testing and Factory Acceptance Test’s (FAT’s) on Hydraulic power packs. The client required a rapid response to keep to the project schedule, and so needed NECIT to source these inspectors in Finland in a timely manner.


Thanks to our global network of multi-skilled QA/QC Inspectors and our high levels of experience in this field, NECIT were easily able to source qualified inspectors based in the vendor location of Finland to carry out as well as witness the entire inspection process, providing a cost effective and flexible solution for our client, as there was no need for travel.


During the hydrostatic testing, our NECIT inspector was able to identify a leakage in one of the motors. As a result, this non-conformance was raised and documented by our inspector, resulting in this leakage to be rectified. The identification of this non-conformance meant that the equipment would be sent out in perfect condition, saving time and money for our client. Thanks to NECIT’s effective and constant communication, the client was made aware of the non-conformance and were happy with the high level of inspector knowledge, professionalism and communication.

Our inspectors fast and accurate reporting of the inspection kept the project on track and the fact the same inspector was present throughout the entire inspection meant that we were able to build a strong relationship with our client. NECIT inspectors act as the eyes and ears of for our client, maintaining their high standards throughout. Our client felt safe in the fact our inspector was highly knowledgeable in this type of inspection and expressed their delight in the inspector we sourced.


Thanks to the high knowledge and experience of our inspector, non-conformances were caught and rectified in a timely manner, meaning the project schedule was maintained. As a result of our inspector catching a non-conformance, there is less risk of product failure in the future for our client.
