Task:

Our client required a fast but efficient turnaround of visual inspection to verify the effectiveness of inflow devices installed in 29 sand screens.

Sand Screens are an essential piece of equipment involving oil, water, gas and steam as well as other production activities which are located underground. It is important Sand Screens are effective in preventing impurities such as sand getting inside the bore which can cause problems such as erosion. Our NECIT inspector was tasked with visually inspecting this piece of equipment, ensuring it was fit for purpose.

Action:

Our inspector arrived for the visual inspection and followed all relevant HSE considerations such as wearing correct PPE and conforming to social distancing guidelines. Thanks to the highly skilled and experienced credentials of the NECIT inspector, we were able to identify and observe several conformities with the equipment, such as; porosity, cracks, spatters, undercuts and misalignments in welds.

Result:

As a result of our expertise inspection personnel, we prevented this unsatisfactory equipment from being sent out into the field, subsequently avoiding further conformities in the future, saving our client time and money. Our inspector provided constant updates to our coordination team and client by way of photographic evidence which were included in daily detailed inspection reports. This helped improve project cadence. We provided a dedicated member of our coordination team to our client and kept in regular contact to ensure the smooth completion of the project.
